Online dating? As an old technophobe like me (yes you can still be a technophobe and run online businesses!) the idea of ‘online dating’ is somewhat bizarre to me.
I’m very much from the old fashioned, meet a girl at a disco, get chatting, spend a number of months ‘courting’ her, meet the parents then tie the knot ‘school of thought’.
However apparently it’s all different nowadays…People are too busy to meet potential partners through the traditional methods, i.e out and about in the social arena, in a coffee shop, in the workplace, through friends of friends…No, apparently nowadays all you have to do is log onto a dating website, upload a complimentary photo of yourself, write a short description of your hobbies and interests and wait for the marriage proposals to come flooding in.
To help me get my head around this one I approached Sam, our young business development manager…Perhaps he could shed some light on this strange world of online dating.
